JohnPaul is a physical defensive tackle who can dominate a game with his high motor and explosion off the ball. JohnPaul uses his toughness and sound technique in the trenches to beat and disengage from defenders. Often double teamed, JohnPaul’s thick frame and excellent upper and lower muscle mass allowed him to stay alive in those situations. Known as an aggressive tackler, JohnPaul is extremely agile and has great reaction time for someone his size. JohnPaul’s constant upbeat attitude on and off the field has always had a motivational effect on his teammates.McNeese State: In 2003, was named to two national all-star teams - Don Hansen’s All-South and College Sporting News I-AA.org; First-Team All-Southland Conference; First Team All-Louisiana; Led defensive line with 67 tackles and led team with 34 QB hurries; Twice in double figure tackles - 12 vs. Ga. Southern and 10 vs. Henderson State. In 2002, was First-Team All Southland Conference; Led defensive line with 58 tackles and had 6 sacks and 5 TFL’s.

Personal: Son of Bertha Jones and father of 1 year old boy. Graduating in the spring with a General Studies degree. Originally signed with LSU, but did not enroll. Attended Louisiana-Lafayette, but did not play football. Enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching movies.
